Creator Partners · The split
Half of every net sale is yours. Here is exactly what that means.
The split is the whole deal, so it should be the easiest part to check. This page answers six things in order: what the percentage is calculated on, what comes out first, what the house's half pays for, when you're paid, how your rate rises, and what is whose if you leave.
When this site says half of every sale, it means half of the net sale. The Creator Partner Terms are the binding version of everything on this page.
What the split is calculated on
Your share is a percentage of the net sale. Net is the money a sale actually leaves after the sale itself is paid for.
- Net sale
- price your buyer paid − sales tax − platform and payment-processing fees − refunds and chargebacks
- Your share
- net sale × your rate (50%, 55% or 60%)
If the product renews monthly, your share renews with every payment.
What comes out before the split, and nothing else
Sales tax. Collected from the buyer where the law requires it. It was never revenue.
Whop's platform fee. Whop runs the checkout, the access and the payouts, and charges for it.
Payment processing. Card, wallet and currency-conversion costs of the payment.
Refunds and chargebacks. If a buyer gets their money back, the commission on that sale comes back too.
That's the full list. No setup fee, no monthly fee, no production cost, no charge for the team.
What the house's half pays for
Everything it takes to put a product in front of your audience and keep it selling:
- The product: research, writing, design and production, in your voice if you want it
- The words that sell it: the sales page, the emails and the launch plan
- The store and the checkout on Whop
- The link page and the email list, installed in your own account
- Tracking of every sale that comes through your link
- A person who answers your buyers on WhatsApp
- Updates to the product while it sells
You bring the audience and the posts. You never pay for the rest.
When and how you're paid
Every sale runs on Whop. Your link carries a thirty-day attribution window, and Whop's records are the source of truth. Your dashboard shows each sale.
Thirty days to clear. Whop holds each commission for thirty days after the purchase, so refunds can settle before anyone is paid.
Then it's yours. The commission moves to your Whop balance and pays out to the method you choose, on the schedule your Whop account allows. Methods and schedules depend on your country and are set by Whop.
How your rate rises
| 50% | Creator Partner | From your first sale. |
|---|---|---|
| 55% | Lead Partner | 100 sales or $10,000 in sales in a rolling 90 days, with a three-month streak. |
| 60% | Anchor Partner | 300 sales or $30,000 in sales, with a six-month streak. |
Boosts add five points to your rate for thirty days: at 25, 100 and 500 sales, and after three months of eight verified posts.
- Thresholds count the full price your buyers paid. Your share is calculated on the net.
- A step down needs notice and ninety days below the threshold.
- Never below fifty percent. The only exception is a suspension for a compliance breach, described in section 5.11 of the Creator Partner Terms, and only while it lasts.
What is whose, and what happens if you leave
| Your name, voice, likeness and own content | Yours. Nothing goes live under your name without your approval. |
|---|---|
| The production: files, lessons, pages | The house's. It builds and owns the production. |
| Your email list | Yours. Export it any time; a full export within thirty days of leaving. |
| Buyer records | The house keeps only what delivery, support and legal or tax duties need. |
Either side can end the partnership with thirty days' written notice by email. Commissions already earned are paid on Whop's normal schedule. There is no exclusivity unless a specific agreement says so.
Comparing us with a higher percentage
Some programs advertise 75% to the creator. Before you compare numbers, compare two things: what the percentage is calculated on, and what you pay for before it. A bigger share of what's left after you've paid for production or a setup fee can be less than half of a net where the house pays for all of it. Ask anyone the same six questions this page answers.
Questions about the split
Is the 50% calculated before or after Whop's fees?
After. Sales tax, Whop's platform fee, payment processing, and refunds or chargebacks come out first. Your share is a percentage of what remains.
Do refunds come out of my share?
Only the commission on the refunded sale. Whop handles the refund under its buyer terms, and that one commission is deducted from your balance.
Can my rate go down?
Only from 60% or 55% to the level your sales support, with notice and ninety days below the threshold. Never below 50%, except during a suspension for a compliance breach.
What if my buyer pays monthly?
Your share recurs with every payment the buyer makes.
